On my acoustic kit years ago I only ever played in socks, but with my new e-kit I play in both. Last thing I want to do when my uncle drags me up to play a song with his band on stage to a pub full of drunken idiots is to kick off my trainers and stink everyone out lol.

I usually play with shoes, but they are very tight shoes, so I can feel the pedals. I have tried to play barefoot, but just couldn't get into it. I watched an outdoor show a few years back and the weather was freezing. The drummer was playing barefoot. That was amazing!!

I got gym shoes, IDK What brand but I like light sneakers most. Actually, lidl 2 euro shoes work like a charm aswell! As long as the shoes are tight around the foot its good for me

I play with very tight tennis shoes with a heel. I like to feel the pedal and maintain support. Heck...I can't walk across the room barefoot, even if it is soft carpet! I have always thought if I were given an old American Indian name it would be "Tender-Foot".

Good one sticks.
I usually play barefoot. I've played in gloves before and hated that too. I want to feel it all.
