Hi
I'm going to buy a yamaha dd65 as an addition to my drumset (percussion or FX)

What do you think?

to consider:
I play a little of both, but especially nu-metal in this period
a friend of mine sold me it 100E + Power Adapter

thanks to all

Salve

grazie a tutti ;)

They are pretty cool. Nothing I would really use though as an addition to my acoustic or electric though.

If you're using it as an extension of an electronic drum kit, you should have a look at a sampling pad, like a Roland SPD, a Yamaha DTX-Multi, or Alesis Performance Pad.
They have about the same number of pads (~8, depending on the unit), but they're arranged in squares, rather than arranged like a drum kit. The DD65 is designed to be the drum kit, rather than an addition onto another one.

It does sound like the price you're getting on it is lower than any Sampling pad out there - the Alesis or a used Roland would likely be the closest in price, but still at least double the price of that DD65.
Give the DD65 go, and you can always sell it to someone else for pretty close to what you paid for it.
